Urban Farming in Copenhagen

To be honest I wasn't in the best mood when I woke up this morning, but I went to the gym, cleaned my room (because my mom is coming to Copenhagen tomorrow!) and went to volunteer at a rooftop farm called ØsterGro. I have worked on other urban farms in New York and wanted to have that experience here in Denmark because each setup is always unique. It was also the most beautiful day we've had this Spring so it was nice to actually be HOT while shoveling.

A crane had left mounds of dirt that we all moved around to form planting beds. I'm excited to keep volunteering at ØsterGro because working outside is so refreshing (especially when I spend so much time sitting in lectures) and I met so many nice people. The managers made a delicious vegetarian lunch for everyone and the sense of community made the day even more special.
