This is the first photo project that I've considered as a photo project. I have a lot of free time while studying in Copenhagen, and it actually makes it harder to focus and schedule myself. My best friend suggested I put energy into photo projects because ever since I got my Canon, I've been in love with photography. Paint the Town exhibits all the beautiful colors in Copenhagen, focusing on rainbow streets of houses, old architecture and blooming yards.
Paper Island is home to repurposed industrial buildings that were once used for paper storage for the Danish Press. The empty halls on the island are now home to an Experimentarium museum, art galleries, and best of all: Copenhagen Street Food. This colorful street food market has trucks with cuisine from all over the world. Deck chairs are provided to sit outside on the pier, soak up the sun and enjoy the best waterfront views in Copenhagen.
Milan was the first city in Europe I traveled to outside of Copenhagen. Although there is not much to be said for the outer city, there are a few exquisite treasures in the center. The Piazza del Duomo brought me back to gothic times and yet there were hundreds of people taking pictures on their iproducts. I think Milan is special for combining old and new. The city has been crowned a fashion capitol for chic trends, but there is also a lot of tradition. One of the strangest traditions is spinning on the bull's balls in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II (see video). Amongst the cafes and shops is also the home of da Vinci's The Last Supper.
"Look at that tourist"
I went skiing in the Alps with my dad. I feel so lucky being able to say that. It was one of the most incredible experiences. The mountains were like this giant fort that everyone was exploring. From the very highest peak in Zermatt, it took an hour and a half to ski back down to the bottom. From the base of the mountains, you can't imagine being on top of something so gloriously grand. But from the top, everything seems so much smaller, especially the little things we tend to worry about on the daily. I am so passionate about nature and I love when it completely humbles you.
